Artist Info: Born in Silverton, Colorado, Skynear moved to San Francisco in 1966. Associated with Pan American WOrld Airways for 5 years, he traveled extensively in Europe, Turkey, Australia and New Zealand. He resided in Munich, Germany in 1971. He returned to the U.S. and during a holiday in Arizona, Skynear found the mountain town of Prescott an ideal environment in which to work and purchased mountain property. Combining airbrushed lacquer, polished inlaid metals and resins, the artist creates his own special style of mixed media painting. Skynear draws his inspirations from the teachings of the Baha'i Faith, nature and a myriad of experiences and skills derived from long time interests in glider flying, topography, forestry, restoration of old cars, and craftmenship in carpentry, cabinet making and ancient Chinese lacquer techniques.
