Artist Info: Born in Tours, France in 1925, the abstract artist James Coignard studied at the Ecole des Arts DÈcoratifs in Nice, and later apprenticed under the well-known painter Marchand des Raux. His contact in the late 1950s with a number of Spanish artists and his special fascination for Catalan sculptures and frescoes proved decisive for his artistic development. Throughout the years James Coignard has exhibited in all major galleries and museums in the world.
