Romero Britto was born in the northern coastal town of Racife, Brazil, in 1963. In 1979, Britto had his first exhibition at the Organization of American States in Brasilia, exposing the artist to a large audience.
In 1989, he was commissioned by Absolut Vodka to join their showcase of artists, which included Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Ed Ruscha, et al. Since then, Britto's work has appeared in over 60 national and international publications, including Arts & Antiques and Art in America.
